The sites below mirror Lua's download area. They are listed here for convenience only, in the unlikely event that Lua.org is temporarily unreachable. (In such cases, a mirror of the complete Lua site will probably be available at PUC-Rio.)
The mirrors are updated very frequently (most daily),
but they exist solely by courtesy of the host institutions and
may cease to be updated or even be removed at their discretion without
prior warning.
To check how current a mirror is,
look at the dates of the checksum files
md5sum.out
and
sha1sum.out
,
which are generated daily at Lua.org.
Note that most ftp sites are also available via http, which is convenient for several reasons: ftp servers may have more strict limits on the numbers of simultaneous sessions they allow, the http server may be faster than the ftp server, and sometimes the ftp server dies but the http server remains alive.
